A tragedy has befallen the Museum of Miniature Found Objects. As reported extensively across the media, fire swept through the museum earlier this year. Members of the public rushed to the aid of curators as they battled to save the world-renowned collection. Sadly only a fraction could be retrieved before the museum was engulfed in flames. Of the building itself, only the Palm Court Tea Rooms have survived intact, and doubts have recently been expressed about the museum's future. However, in a statement released yesterday by the Board of Governors, the Museum of Miniature Found Objects has been "a key player in global heritage, with its incalculable contribution to London as a major cultural hub. The museum, though facing a challenging time ahead, will seek to rebuild its collection." The Board announced the plan of action will shortly be made available to the public and comment will be invited.
