Raoul Théière, Curator of Body Parts at the Museum of Miniature Found Objects, is the newest recipient of the Fire Services Gallantry Medal (pictured above). The London Fire Brigade commended him for his bravery in single-handedly extinguishing a fire in the newly restored Smoking Cubicle last December.* The LFB made special note of his quick thinking in devising a structure using exhibits from the display 'Legs: A History of the Instep' in the nearby Sturm und Drang Galleries, with which he stamped out the flames. In thanking the London Fire Brigade, Mr Théière said, "I'm very proud to have prevented a potentially tragic loss to the museum. I'll wear this medal with pride, though it was the other legs that did all the work – they deserve a medal too!" The MMFO congratulates Raoul Théière for this much-deserved accolade.

*Please note, smoking is currently banned in the Smoking Cubicle.
